AN INCIDENT : A THIEF

A crisp morning brought a beginning of a new day. It was a sunny day. When Bala was walking home from school, he saw a group of boys attacked a stray dog. They took the sticks to hit the dog and threw stones to it. Bala quickly shouted at the group of boys to stop attacking the poor creature. Then they ran off laughing.

Bala took pity on the dog and carried it home. The dog was badly hurt. Bala cleaned the wounds and gently nursed it back to health. After a few weeks, the dogs was well and able to run and jump again. Bala felt very happy and excited. He then decided to keep the dog as his pet. He named the cute dog as Patch.

During Bala carefree time, Bala always played with Patch in the house garden. Whenever Bala threw the stick to anywhere, Patch would run after the stick and brought it back to its owner.

One night, the wind raged, the clouds burst and everyone had slept soundly in their dream. Suddenly, Patch saw two dark figures around the house. It became suspicious because they were not Bala or Bala's family members. It started to bark as loudly as it could to frightened them. Within a minute, the shadows disappeared.

However, the shadows appeared again the next night. They entered the house through the back door. The robbers then tied Bala and his family up by using a rope. The noise had awaked Patch. It immediately ran toward the noise. Patch rushed in through the back door and attacked the two robbers. However, they hit Patch in its head. Despite the wound, Patch attacked them fiercely until they fled. At last, Bala and his family felt relieved and lucky because Patch had saved their life. They were thankful to Patch.
